With the support of the European Union, as part of a project implemented by DW Akademie in partnership with Fatabyyano, we are pleased to announce an open call for Arabic-speaking experts and trainers in presentation, communication, and training skills, to participate in a Team Building and Community Training Readiness Workshop, as part of the Fact-Checking Fellowship Programme in Syria, in December 2026.
Fatabyyano is seeking an experienced Arabic-speaking Lead Trainer and Co-Trainer to help prepare and deliver a two-day, in-person workshop in Damascus on Sunday and Monday, 20–21 December 2026, for 18 fellowship participants.
The workshop aims to strengthen participants’ practical training and facilitation skills, while building their confidence and readiness to deliver community training sessions on fact-checking and media literacy in January and February 2027.
As participants have already received the necessary training on fact-checking and media literacy content, this workshop will focus primarily on developing their training and facilitation skills rather than teaching fact-checking or media literacy topics. Key areas will include public speaking, effective communication, clear delivery of information, managing training sessions and groups, building confidence and presence as trainers, engaging audiences, and handling questions and unexpected situations.
The workshop will also include practical exercises and simulated training sessions, allowing participants to practice their skills and receive constructive feedback on their performance. It will also help assess their readiness and identify areas for further improvement before they begin delivering their community training sessions.
Priority will be given to Syrian nationals residing in Syria during the workshop period. Travel, transportation, and accommodation costs will be covered where needed.
